With Cadillac's popular luxury SUV the midsize XT5 performance is transferred from the engine to the wheels via a nine-speed Electronic Precision Shift transmission. Driver-Selectable Mode puts performance in the driver's hands by allowing them to choose a driving mode according to weather conditions or their preferred driving experience.
The Electronic Precision Shift transmission reduces noise and vibrations while increasing responsiveness when shifting gears. Gears are selected using a joystick-like shifter. For Drive, the shifter is pulled back. Push the shifter forward and you are in Neutral. For Reverse, you push the shifter forward then to the left. The XT5 goes into Park with the push of a button.
?Driver-Selectable Mode in an all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive XT5s allows the driver to choose a smoother fuel-saving ride or a performance car-like ride. There is also a mode that adjusts for slippery roads. Visit La Quinta Cadillac to test drive the XT5.
